What is the Endangerment Finding
In 2009, EPA found – based on overwhelming scientific evidence – that greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide and methane endanger our health, communities, and economy by driving global climate change.
Federal courts have unanimously upheld that finding. It’s what gives the EPA the authority and responsibility to limit heat-trapping pollution from major sources like power plants, motor vehicles, and aircraft.

That repeal only applied to motor vehicles. EPA is now proposing to repeal the finding for power plants, too, by reversing its own conclusion that their emissions significantly contribute to dangerous pollution.
