30×30 (thirty by thirty) is a global effort to conserve 30% of lands and waters by 2030. It began with international work for large scale protections. It became official USA policy in 2021 and California State policy in 2020 with Gov Newsom's Executive Order N-82-20 to permanently protect 30% of California's lands and coastal waters by 2030 (John Muir Land Trust).
