AB 1448 would prohibit the Commission from leasing land for oil or gas extraction in Marine Protected Areas or National Marine Sanctuaries. Additionally prohibits leases of infrastructure located in state waters from being used to support Pacific Outer Continental Shelf leases issued after Jan 1, 2026.

Stop PG&E Gouging ALL Californians to Extend Diablo Canyon Nuclear Plant

A UC Santa Barbara study found PG&E is overcharging all Californians to extend the life of the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Plant, estimated over $650 million from California taxpayers and over $1.8 billion in exorbitant customer fees. Whether you live in PG&E territory or not – all Californians are paying to keep this aging nuclear plant open, while PG&E makes record level profits. Now PG&E is aiming towards an additional 15-year extension – all the way to 2045 – with no comprehensive financial analysis from the state.
