Sierra Club Outdoor Outreach

Remember the fun and adventurous spirit you had from growing up playing in the stream behind your house, the woods down the block, or going on family vacations or camp to the mountains or lakes? Nowadays, many kids are surrounded by cement and don't have the opportunity to explore in nature. Inspiring Connections Outdoors (ICO) has been introducing underserved youth to the wilderness for decades. 

ICO's mission is to "promote personal development by linking cultures, fostering respect of self and others and providing leadership skills to promote appreciation and protection of our local and global environments through a process of spiritual growth and sharing." The ICO program meets this mission by providing safe and enjoyable outdoor experiences for those who, without ICO, might not otherwise have them. Adult volunteers provide these outings at no charge to partner agencies in our community.
