Washington's forests, salmon and climate need all of us.
For more than 70 years, Sierra Club members across Washington have spoken up, shown up and gotten outside together. More than 81,000 supporters strong, we're heading into 2027 ready to push for bold action.
Your gift goes twice as far. Our board and committed supporters will match the first $45,000 given by December 31.
What we're working on now
Four priorities guide our work as we head into 2027.
Protecting public lands
Defending the Northwest Forest Plan, legacy forests, and WA's roadless areas from reckless logging and mining.
Fighting climate change
Responsibly speeding up our state's buildout of clean energy, passing the nation's strongest data center standards, and protecting our climate laws.
Salmon & steelhead recovery
Restoring habitat and reducing harm to threatened fish populations, including the removal of the lower Snake River dams.
Getting people outside, free
Free outings that build community and help people fall in love with the places we're fighting for.
What we won together this year
You spoke up, wrote letters, made calls and funded attorneys. Here's what that made possible.
FEBRUARY
Vital court win for salmon
A federal judge ordered Columbia and Snake river dams to spill more water, protecting fish runs that had been put back at risk.
MAY
Dam replacement research saved
After federal funding was cut, we secured state money to keep studying how to replace the services the lower Snake River dams provide.
SEPTEMBER
Local clean energy choices protected
The Washington Supreme Court struck down Initiative 2066, preserving communities' right to phase out natural gas.
OLYMPIA
Wins in the legislature
We clawed back data center tax breaks, secured millions for the Trust Land Transfer program, and closed loopholes in our climate laws.
SPRING AND FALL
Standing up for forests
We fought to save the Roadless Rule, which protects pristine forest across Washington, and we're ready for the legal battle ahead.
Help us build on this in 2027.
Three ways to get involved
Volunteer
Our work runs on volunteers. Testify, knock doors, lead outings or join a committee, whatever fits your time and talents.
Get outside
Hikes, paddles and stewardship days across the state, led by trained volunteers and free to join.
Vote by November 3
Washington can elect its most pro-environment legislature yet. See our endorsements and how to help get out the vote.
