Farewell, KayceeAfter more than four years with Sierra Club Wyoming Chapter, Kaycee Prevedel will begin a new journey with the Wind River Tribal Buffalo Initiative. Here is an excerpt from Kaycee's reflection on her time at Sierra Club. It's been such a pleasure working for the Sierra Club, Wyoming Chapter. When I started with the Sierra Club in 2021, I came fresh from a forever-seasonal position with the U.S. Forest Service and was passionate about public lands protection and cultural preservation. I found myself at home with the Sierra Club’s values against using public lands for sacrifice zones for fossil fuel extraction, and was impressed with SC’s track record of standing up to dirty industries. Through my work, I met wildlife biologists, experts, and advocates who taught me the importance of carnivore protection and the impressiveness of intact ecosystems. Overall, I have enjoyed working for an organization that is often the most progressive voice in the WY conservation community.
