The Board authorized flood control maintenance contracts for channel cleaning and runoff pollution reduction. This work removes trash, debris, and silt and clears vegetation around access roads and critical infrastructure.  

This contract authorizes no herbicides or pesticides. Due to concerns raised to my office, no RoundUp or glyphosate have been used in the Trabuco or San Juan Creek Flood Control Channels since 2025, and those chemicals will not return to these channels. I continue urging for manual and mechanical clearing methods that protect both residents and habitat.
