Deputy Director (she/her)
Asha Sharma is the Deputy Director at Sierra Club California where she spearheads legislative and regulatory strategy. Asha has more than a decade of experience leading grassroots-powered campaigns alongside impacted communities to achieve environmental justice and secure a livable climate. Her work has contributed to billions of dollars of state investments in natural and protected lands and climate programs, increased representation of environmental justice communities at state agencies, and improved protections from extreme heat for frontline communities. She is excited to bring Sierra Club's grassroots power to Sacramento to fight for the equitable and healthy world we all deserve. In her free time, you can find her outdoors, often hiking, camping or backpacking with her dog Frankie or biking along the American River Trail.
