Reducing Single-Use Plastics, One Facebook Post at a Time

Plastic Tips on Recycling UnbaggedFolks who follow the Woods and Wetlands Group on social media are getting valuable tips on becoming part of the solution to the growing environmental and health threats of plastics.

The Plastics Team's education working group compiled dozens of tips about how individuals can reduce single-use plastic in their lives. Some tips are familiar, such as "bring your own reusable shopping bags." Other tips may not be widely known, such as "opt for natural fibers when buying clothes because synthetic fibers contain plastic." Please read, like, and share tips from the Woods and Wetlands Group’s Facebook page

Some tips also could appear in a slide bank volunteers can use for presentations at libraries, community centers, and  schools, and for clubs and faith communities.
