We are delighted to present Sharon Cornelius-Iles, a dynamic and enthusiastic solar authority. She will explain the basics including the mysteries of solar energy as it is converted to the electricity that runs our homes. Solar panels are devices that convert sunlight into electricity using photovoltaic (PV) cells. These cells absorb sunlight and generate direct current (DC) electricity, which is then converted into usable alternating current (AC) electricity for homes and businesses. Sharon will explain in simple terms aspects of adapting solar power in our homes. Topics including energy storage and sharing, net energy credits, battery storage as well as benefits to consumers of electricity in Illinois will be addressed.
