The Winding Waters Group, of the Hoosier Chapter of the Sierra Club, has a long history of protecting pollinators in our community. Our efforts helped launch the first Protect the Pollinator Campaign in 2018, bringing the beauty and functionality of native plants into the spotlight in public spaces throughout Columbus.

Our most recent projects include the Columbus Air Park Pollinator Path and the Bartholomew County Public Library Eastside Annex, along with our continued support of the pollinator beds at Blackwell Park. Each project promotes authentic native plant habitat while creating opportunities for the public to engage with and learn about plant diversity.

We are proud to present our annual Native Plant Sale each spring at the Columbus Farmers Market, which focuses on accessibility, education, and building a stronger native plant community. With more than 30 varieties often available from which to choose, along with our informative plant brochure, every gardener has an opportunity to learn the ecological benefits of these plants.  We hope to inspire residents to create their own native gardens and sprinkle pollinator pods throughout our neighborhoods.
