Following a raucous (rock-ous?) 2024 State of the State with Governor Gretchen Whitmer, the Sierra Club Michigan Chapter's Deputy Political and Legislative Director Tim Minotas released the following statement:

"Last year, we were able to pass one of the most comprehensive and ambitious clean energy packages in the country. In 2024, we must build upon this strong momentum and pass legislation that will hold polluters accountable, allow communities to harness their own energy from the sun, ensure everyone has access to safe and affordable water, transform our transportation system while making Michigan the EV capital of the world, and pass a state budget that prioritizes climate action. Governor Whitmer laid out the hits of 2023 in her State of the State, and we're excited to see what we can accomplish in 2024 and beyond."

The Sierra Club Michigan Chapter has several legislative priorities laid out for 2024, which can be found HERE.
