Sierra Club Youth Volunteers are leaders in the environmental movement. Sierra Club Michigan is proud to support their efforts to address environmental issues and mitigate climate change. Youth peer-peer collaborations focus on advocacy, education, leadership development, and social change initiatives. Members of our Youth Leadership Team work collectively to identify problems, develop solutions, and influence policies that impact young people. Participants gain valuable skills, build networks, participate in exciting programs and make a positive impact on Michigan’s environment.
The Youth Leadership Team participates in the Chapter's decision making spaces, like the Legislative and Political Committees to help shape our priorities. Other activities include, but are not limited to:
- Outdoor Adventures
- Rallies & Protests
- Candidate Endorsement Process
- Free Training
- Support with Student Activism Goals
- SPROG (Sierra Club Student Coalition Summer Program for Young Organizers)
- Fun Events and Group Activities
