July 15, 2026: Volunteers Needed for Pollinator Planting at Wint Nature Center, Clarkston
- We are looking for volunteers to help with a pollinator planting at the main entrance of Wint Nature Center at Independence Oaks County Park in Clarkston from 8 am to 11 am. This will be a hands-on opportunity to add native wildflowers to one of the most visible places at the Nature Center, creating a welcoming native plant garden right where visitors enter the center. The planting will also support a larger effort by Oakland County Parks to reimagine the entrance area as a landscape that highlights native plants, pollinators and healthy habitat.
- No special experience is needed. If you need to arrive late or leave early, that is alright too. Any time you can give will help.
- This project is part of a Sierra Club pollinator microgrant pilot project and is organized locally by the Southeast Michigan Group in partnership with Oakland County Parks.
