On Thursday, February 8, explore the beauty of Dexter’s Hudson Mills Metropark and indulge in the rich flavors of locally crafted chocolate at Mindo Chocolate Makers Factory. This unique outing brings together two wonderful experiences: a scenic, 2.6-mile hike followed by a sweet and educational chocolate tour.
We'll meet at the Oak Meadows Picnic Area parking lot at 9:15 a.m. and hit the trail at 9:30 a.m. The hike offers stunning river views and peaceful wooded paths, making it an enjoyable adventure for hikers of all levels. After soaking in the natural beauty, we’ll head to the Mindo Chocolate Makers Factory in Dexter for a special behind-the-scenes tour.
During the tour, participants will learn about Mindo’s sustainable chocolate making process from harvesting cacao beans in Ecuador’s biodiverse cloud forest to crafting delicious treats right here in Michigan. Plus, you’ll get to savor their signature drinking chocolate and sample some of their finest creations. The cost for the tour and tasting is $20 per person, payable at the start of the hike. Space is limited to 17 participants. Sign up soon to reserve your spot.
