While the results are still not yet known from last night’s Iowa Caucus, one thing has been confirmed yet again: the climate crisis is at the top of voters’ minds. Climate change was one of the top two issues for voters last night, further confirming the importance that ambitious climate action plans will play in the 2020 election after months of polling in both Iowa and around the country had shown the same thing.

Earlier this year, in a poll of likely Democratic primary voters conducted by Morning Consult for the Sierra Club, an overwhelming 77% of climate voters say YES, they would consider switching their vote based on the ambition of another candidates’ climate plan.

Ahead of tonight’s State of the Union, where it’s rumored Donald Trump will greenhouse gaslight the country over his deadly and dangerous attacks on clean air, clean water, and the climate, one thing remains clear: the American people demand climate action, not a Climate Denier-In-Chief.
