Sierra Club Connecticut Announces 2025 Climate and Environmental Legislative Priorities

HARTFORD, Conn. – To mark the start of the Connecticut legislative session, Sierra Club Connecticut has shared the following 2025 legislative priorities with elected officials. 

  • End Fossil Fuel Expansion and Subsidies that Cost Money and Harm the Climate

  • Increase Energy Efficiency

  • Advance Environmental Justice

  • Reduce Transportation Pollution

  • Ensure Heat Protection and Climate Resilience 

  • Reduce Waste and End Incineration

  • Protect Wildlife

“Every Connecticut resident and family deserves a safe and healthy environment,” said Sierra Club Connecticut Chapter Director Samantha Dynowski. “Our legislative agenda provides a template for pragmatic action on the key environmental issues facing our state. 2025 is a critical year for Connecticut. Legislators must stand up for people over polluting interests now more than ever. We believe that by prioritizing energy efficiency, clean energy, wildlife protection, and environmental justice, reducing waste, and stopping fossil fuel expansion and incineration, Connecticut can achieve our goals and begin to build a sustainable home for all.”
