HAWAIʻI & WISCONSIN – Today, Governor Josh Green, M.D. of Hawaiʻi and Governor Tony Evers of Wisconsin announced they are joining the Affordable Clean Cars Coalition. This growing state-led partnership will help sustain America’s transition to cleaner and more affordable cars, support U.S. automotive manufacturers and workers, and safeguard states’ clean air authority.
States in the Coalition now include California, Colorado, Delaware, Hawaiʻi, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Washington, and Wisconsin.
In response, Sierra Club Clean Transportation for All Director Katherine García released the following statement:
“No matter how hard he tries, Trump cannot stop the national movement towards cleaner cars. We’re proud of Hawaiʻi and Wisconsin for joining 11 other states to improve access to electric vehicles at a time when the federal government works to prop up the fossil fuel industry at the expense of our economic well-being and health. Governors Green and Evers’ leadership will help save families money on fuel, improve public health, and encourage American global competitiveness on clean technology.”
