New York -- Today, a coalition of 40 environmental, labor, and transportation industry stakeholders in New York submitted a formal petition to the New York Public Service Commission calling for an Order Establishing a Separate Proceeding to Advance New York’s Electric Vehicle (EV) Market. The requested proceeding would promote a coordinated, proactive approach to New York’s EV initiatives and the petition also asks that New York’s utilities submit proposals to accelerate installation of EV charging infrastructure and EV customer education.

The video, targeted to the DC region, is accompanied by a petition calling on Ford to support strong clean car standards.

Today marks the start of the DC Auto Show. Despite recent claims of investment in electric vehicles by Ford, the auto company isn’t showcasing any of their electric vehicles. As a part of the Auto Alliance, Ford is lobbying the Trump administration to roll back vehicle fuel efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions standards.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today it was announced that Toyota Motor Corp. has ended talks with the Environmental Protection Agency to partner on an operational review at the agency. In December, during EPA administrator Scott Pruitt’s congressional hearing, Pruitt announced the EPA will be partnering with Toyota on an operational review. At the time, the Sierra Club condemned the partnership.

The data shows that new cars are guzzling 20% less gas and spewing lower climate emissions than their predecessors purchased a decade ago. Strong standards are essential to keeping these encouraging trends going.

San Francisco, CA-- Today the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) took a massive step toward a clean energy future by passing a resolution that will order Pacific Gas & Electric, one of the nation’s largest electric utilities, to buy clean resources instead of relying on gas plants and by approving 15 pilot programs to support electrification of cars, trucks and buses through infrastructure deployment and other measures, which will be implemented by the State’s three investor-owned utilities.
