WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, the Senate Judiciary Committee voted strictly along party lines to vote the confirmation of Judge Neil Gorsuch to the U.S. Supreme Court out of committee. Gorsuch’s nomination now heads to the Senate floor without the 60 votes required to confirm a Supreme Court nominee. Should Gorsuch’s nomination fail, either Donald Trump could propose a new nominee, or McConnell could do away with the more than 200-year old precedent and change Senate rules to force the nominee through.

During the comment period, more than 50,000 people across the country voiced their opposition to the proposed rollbacks.

Washington, DC -- Today, Donald Trump signed an executive order directing Mike Pence and Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach to lead a commission investigating Trump’s repeatedly disproven assertion of the existence of voter fraud. Despite no evidence, Trump has claimed that three to five million Americans voted illegally in the 2016 election, a claim that has been categorically proven to be untrue.

Ann Arbor, MI -- Today, at a press conference hosted by the American Federation for Government Employees, Representative Debbie Dingell called for federal funding for the Environmental Protection Agency’s National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory (NVFEL). Donald Trump’s proposed budget had called for funding for the NVFEL to be paid for by auto companies.
