Las Vegas, NV--Today across Las Vegas, people called on Interior Secretary Zinke to halt his review of national monuments in Nevada. Two monuments in the state are part of the review and in near danger of being reduced in size or stripped of their designation. The event featured important guest speakers including representatives from from Congressman Ruben Kihuen's and Senator Catherine Cortez Masto’s offices and Las Vegas city councilman Isaac Barron.

The event featured a crowd of over 50 at Denver’s Patagonia store-- where  partnered with business owners -- Including Patagonia and ___ to express the importance of the nation’s public lands for our health and economy.

RALEIGH, NC -- Yesterday, the Sierra Club, in conjunction with several other clean air and water advocates, submitted more than 5,000 comments opposing state certification of the proposed Atlantic Coast Pipeline (ACP). The ACP is an interstate fracked gas project of Duke Energy, Piedmont Natural Gas, Southern Company Gas, and majority owner Dominion Energy.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Scott Pruitt asked the court for a green light to abandon stronger clean air protections against Texas coal pollution today by placing mandated and long-overdue Clean Air Act standards to improve air quality on hold yet again. These protections, which are already a decade overdue, would have given his home state of Oklahoma billions of dollars in public health-related benefits.

Washington, DC -- Today, a letter signed by 1,669 veterans was delivered to Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke, expressing opposition to the Trump administration’s plans to revisit the current five-year plan for offshore drilling and urging Zinke to maintain existing protections for our coasts.
