Washington, D.C. – On Friday, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) voted 2-1 to reject MISO’s discriminatory plan that would mostly favor the construction of gas-burning power plants at the expense – both time and money – of mostly renewable energy and battery storage projects. MISO currently has more than 200 gigawatts of wind, solar, and energy storage in the interconnection queue. That’s enough electricity to power 175,200,000 homes.

Washington, DC - Today, the Trump administration released their response to the public comments on the Department of Energy’s LNG exports study that was finalized in December 2024. The study underpins the Department of Energy’s public interest determination for methane gas export applications. Energy Secretary Chris Wright says the agency will now begin to issue final orders for new and pending applications, despite the studies finding that LNG exports will displace renewables, raise energy prices, and contribute to climate disasters.

CAMERON, LA— The Center for Biological Diversity and the Sierra Club sued the Trump administration today for approving the proposed Delfin LNG deepwater export terminal 40 miles off the Louisiana coast. The project would be the first offshore LNG export project in the United States.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — Today marks the 10-year anniversary of the Refugio Oil Spill, when more than 120,000 gallons of crude oil spilled onto Santa Barbara beaches and into the ocean, killing marine life, destroying habitat and closing local businesses.
On Sunday, to commemorate the anniversary, more than 100 environmentalists, surfers, students and community members filled the beach and paddled out to the site of the 2015 spill.
