The groups submitted comprehensive requests to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Energy (DOE).

Although the exact causes of the leaks are still unknown, all of the emissions are located near oil fields or refineries. As of Monday, an “end” date for the leaks has not been reported.
