Over the weekend, global leaders at the G7 summit announced their continued support for global Liquefied Methane Gas (LNG) investments. The decision to back LNG directly undermines goals to phase out fossil fuels, transition to clean energy, and limit global warming to 1.5ºC. Additionally, this decision contradicts last year’s G7 commitment to end international public finance for fossil fuels by the end of 2022.
