Volunteer Teams
Sierra Club in Tennessee reaches out to members and the communities all across the state. We are activists, we educate, we advocate - and we get outdoors. You can find a list of opportunities to work with the public, with legislators and with other environmental groups on the Conservation Committees page.
All of this requires the help of dedicated teams to lead and manage the activities. Like any organization, it takes internal organizers, communicators, planners, event leaders, IT functions and accounting functions to keep things going. There are open opportunities listed here. These team positions are unpaid but a great way to exercise your skills, to develop new skills and to interact with very dedicated people who share your interest. Some may require attending meetings in person in one of our Group cities - Chattanooga, Knoxville, Memphis or Nashville, while others may be done remotely from anywhere.
Knoxville TN Inspiring Connections Outdoors
Inspiring Connections Outdoors (ICO) and local Sierra Club volunteers partner with schools and community agencies to actively engage low-income inner city youth and adults in nature. Hikes, outings, education - get them into the great outdoors! If you like working with young people as they learn and accomplish, ICO needs you. The kids need you.
