For the past 130 years, Sierra Club outings have offered a way to explore and enjoy wonderful outdoor places. The tradition is carried on year-round by Sierra Club volunteers in Michigan. Outings are a great way to enjoy and explore Michigan's exceptional outdoor recreational opportunities.

The outings knowledgeable leaders arrange activities that suit almost anyone's skill level and interest. Sierra Club volunteers trained to lead outings invite participants to join other enthusiasts as they visit places both near and far. Outings range from short hikes on urban trails, to cross-country ski outings in Michigan's designated National Forest wildernesses, to paddling on rivers across the state, to service outings designed to help protect and restore wild places and trails. A small fee may be required to help cover costs for the outings.
