Whereas The Watershed Institute is a steward of the health of the Millstone River; and
Whereas The Watershed Institute has a history of taking action to improve the ecological health of the Millstone River
and its health as a key source of drinking water for Central New Jersey; and
Whereas the Watershed Institute has previously participated in hearings related to the WRV Nurseries Project.
Now therefore, be it resolved that the Sierra Club NJ release the reports prepared by Princeton Hydro evaluating the stormwater system proposed by WRV Nurseries, and to further solicit The Watershed Institute's assistance in challenging the appropriateness of said system.

WHEREAS, a data center is under construction at the former Princeton Nurseries site; and
WHEREAS, the project site is on the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (“DEP”) list of Known Contaminated Sites as “PRINCETON NURSERIES” and is listed as “active”; and
WHEREAS, despite the ongoing construction, there is no Site Remediation Plan in place; and
WHEREAS, Dieldrin and Chlordane are known contaminants at the project site; and
WHEREAS, the developer, WRV Nurseries South Brunswick Owner, LLC, has submitted to DEP a stormwater management plan that does not address the potential for contamination of stormwater runoff and groundwater at the site; and
WHEREAS, the contaminants in the stormwater runoff could flow into Heathcote Brook and into the Millstone River; and
WHEREAS, Princeton Hydro LLC has prepared two reports, dated April 24, 2025 and July 16, 2025 that analyze the stormwater management plan for the project site and the potential contamination in the runoff;
BE IT RESOLVED that New Jersey Chapter of the Sierra Club shall notify the General Counsel of the American Water Works Company, Inc. of the potential contamination of the Millstone watershed caused by the ongoing construction at the project site, including providing American Water Works Company with Princeton Hydro’s reports.
