Minneapolis, MN – Today the Sierra Club announced its endorsement of Dean Phillips for Minnesota’s 3rd Congressional District.

"We are pleased to announce our endorsement of Dean Phillips for the 3rd Congressional District,” said Josh Davis, Political Committee co-chair for Sierra Club North Star. “Dean Phillips understands the urgency of addressing climate change and transitioning to electric vehicles, and is committed to phasing out subsidies for polluting fossil fuels.  He brings a background in sustainable business practices that will translate to smart policy solutions.

“The Sierra Club is confident that Dean Phillips will bring a strong voice to environmental protection, clean air and clean water, and we look forward to his leadership in Washington D.C.”

An electric vehicle driver himself, Dean Phillips has committed to passing legislation and extending opportunities to continue America’s transition onto clean, renewable energy.

“We didn’t leave the Stone Age because we ran out of rocks; rather, we developed better ways of doing things,” said Dean Phillips. In the 21st century, it’s time to accelerate our transition to a clean-energy economy, reduce our carbon footprint, and preserve our planet for future generations.”

The Sierra Club will mobilize its members and supporters to elect endorsed candidates.
