Q: How did you become involved with Sierra Club?
A:
I first volunteered at VALCORE (Vallejo Community Organizations Recycling established in 1981). Jane BognerHere, I met other Sierra Club members. We all worked together with Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, disabled groups and others to run a recycling center when there were no other places to recycle. People, such as Nancy McCoy, Doris Klein, Rollye Wiskerson and Howard Hoffman, taught me to build trails and identify the wildflowers.

Q: How has your involvement with Sierra Club changed your life?
A:
Sierra Club gave me an outlet to take care of my own “back yard” by writing a biweekly environmental column called “A Sorted Affair,” which was published in the Vallejo Times Herald for 25 years.

Q: What is one of your fondest memories participating in a Sierra Club event or activity?
A:
Celebrating annual Earth Day Events, day hikes and backpacking with friends.

Q: What is your favorite thing about living in Northern California?
A:
Open space, trails, the weather.

Q: Where in the outdoors would we most likely to find you?
A:
Bay Area Ridge trail, local trails.
