How Money You Donate to the Sierra Club is Used

Money donated to the Sierra Club Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt public charity governed by an independent board of directors, has helped achieve some monumental environmental goals:

  • Rejection of the Keystone XL pipeline.
  • Protection of the Arctic from oil drilling.
  • Creation and launch of the final Clean Power Plan.
  • Declaration of six new national monuments that preserve more than a million acres.
  • During the historic climate conference in Paris, with pressure from the Sierra Club and its global partners, world leaders from 200 nations reached a watershed agreement to pursue meaningful efforts to limit global warming.

The Foundation makes millions of dollars in grants to support efforts like:

  • Clean energy solutions.
  • Beyond Coal Campaign.
  • Environmental Law Program.
  • Sierra Student Coalition.
  • Environmental Justice and Community Partnerships.
  • Global Population and Environment.
  • And many others.

Find out more from their annual reports.

Then contact the Sierra Club Foundation to see how you can help.
