Dramatic NBC Left Field Story Unveils What It's Like to Live Next to Flaring

There's a dramatic new video out today from NBC Left Field focusing on the real-world impacts of living next to flaring and venting from fracking operations in West Texas. What is particularly moving is the personal experiences of people living near their new neighbors: flares from oil companies that intentionally burn off natural gas.

Hats off to Sharon Wilson from Earthworks, and Colin Leydon from Environmental Defense Fund for contributing to this story.

It's about 11 minutes long and worth every minute. Make sure you watch the moments with the state trooper, who, it turns out, lives within sight of where they were filming and got to look through a FLIR camera for the first time to see how much pollution was being vented unvisibly right next to his house.

We need better protections against oil and gas pollution. Sign our action alert to tell the Texas Legislature to pass meaningful oi and gas industry reform!
