From Heat to Hope: A Sierra Club Texas Podcast

Everyday Texans are facing soaring heat, dwindling water supplies, and an electric grid on the edge. But behind every challenge is a story of resilience, advocacy, and action. This podcast series from the Sierra Club Lone Star Chapter features the voices of community members on the frontlines of environmental injustice—those fighting for clean air, safe water, and a livable future for all. Through honest conversations and real stories, we explore the intersections of environmental issues and everyday life in Texas. This is not doomsday storytelling—this is the power of people rising up to protect what they love.

Episode One

In episode one, we meet Dr. Eileen McGinnis, a scholar, advocate, and mother, was raising her three-year-old son when a stark report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change - the IPCC - warned that we had just over a decade to limit the most catastrophic effects of global warming.

Episode Two

In episode two, we meet Jordan Goodrich, the Communications Manager for the Sierra Club Lone Star Chapter. And through her work, her words, she’s building bridges between people and the planet, one story at a time.

Episode Three

Dr. Isabel Araiza is the Assistant Professor of Sociology, Coordinator for the Mexican American Studies Program at Del Mar College, and co-founder of For the Greater Good. A woman who reminds us that change doesn't come all at once. It comes in ripples. It comes when ordinary people refuse to look away.
