From popular parks to hidden gems, Wisconsin is bursting with special places that make it possible to connect with nature. We recently asked members of our volunteer teams to tell us about their favorite spaces – places they go to play, rest, relax and be inspired – places they are passionate about and work to protect.
We invite you to take a virtual journey around the state with us on Tuesday, September 9.
We'll hear the story of these special places and how they connect to the work of the Wisconsin Chapter during our annual Locally Grown, Nationally Known event. When you register you’ll also have a chance to share the name of your favorite outdoor place in Wisconsin. We’ll share the results of this informal survey during the event.
When: Tuesday, Sept. 9, 6:00 p.m
Where: Zoom (pre-register here we’ll email you a link prior to the event)
Cost: Free to register and attend with opportunities to donate online prior to and during the event. (Follow along or show your support for our fundraising efforts here.)
The event is free to attend and there will also be opportunities to show your support for the work of the chapter and our teams.
This is a great opportunity to be in community with others who care about our natural world from the comfort of your home. Please join us! Reserve your seat today.
What the program will entail:

We’ve been hosting this annual event for over a decade and it’s always a fun time. Learn more about these treasures and what we're doing to protect them.
An exclusive first look at a new tool highlighting the importance of safeguarding our public lands
We’re thrilled to launch our new dashboard and interactive map, a powerful tool to explore Wisconsin’s lands and waters through the lens of the global 30x30 initiative—the ambitious goal to protect 30% of lands and waters by 2030. From forests and wetlands to prairies and culturally important sites, this tool lets you see the diversity of habitats across the state, understand their crucial roles in climate mitigation, biodiversity, and human well-being, and even discover what’s thriving right in your own backyard. We'll be giving you a sneak peek of the dashboard and how to use it at the event. Attend the Locally Grown event for donate to the Lands Team for early access to the dashboard.
