At the Wisconsin Chapter we are powered by grassroots and community organizing. We build people power to fight for safer communities and a healthier planet, and so we are always recruiting volunteers from across the state. Keep reading to learn more about volunteering with us, explore our current opportunities and all of the ways you can get involved with the WI Chapter.
Volunteer culture: We work everyday to build a culture of learning and teaching among our volunteers and teams. Volunteering takes many forms, and it becomes what you make of it. We strive to provide volunteer opportunities for all experience levels and schedules, skills and interests. No prior experience is required, only a desire to make a difference!

Current Volunteer Opportunities
You can support our work and make a big difference for Wisconsin by volunteering your time and skills. Check out some of the ways you can get involved, whether on a team that meets regularly, supporting specific events, or just helping out where you can! The Wisconsin Chapter has six current conservation priorities that are divided into Issue Teams to create goals and set priorities specific to each area.
If you are looking for a behind-the-scenes volunteer role that allows you to take on projects sporadically as they interest you and fit your schedule, then one of our Support Teams may be the right fit!
Committees work together as teams on a mix of issues related to fundraising, budget, legislation, politics & elections, equity & justice, and Wisconsin Chapter awards.
We are organized into six Local Groups, each with its own officers, activities, conservation priorities and programs. If getting involved at your local level is what interests you, then your Local Group will make a great fit!
Outings are great ways to get outdoors and connect with others in your community over shared interests and passions. If you're interested in educating and guiding others in nature, consider leading an outing!

Online activism is a fast, easy, and amazingly effective way for you to make a difference. Our regular action hour is the best way to stay on top of the Wisconsin Sierra Club’s actions and happenings. RSVP to save your spot!
The Sierra Club Wisconsin Chapter’s book club meets at 7pm on the first Tuesday of every other month, and we’d love for you to join us!
Almost all of our events, meetings, and activities are open to the public, and to new volunteers. Attending one of our events is a great way to meet other volunteer leaders and learn about ways to get involved in an issue or activity that interests you.
