Corporate energy giant PPL Corporation—parent company of Louisville Gas & Electric (LG&E) and Kentucky Utilities (KU)—is pushing a $3.7 billion expansion and justifying this as needed to meet surging electricity demand from data centers (that currently don't exist) and industrial projects. But instead of making big corporations pay their fair share, PPL wants Kentucky families to foot the bill through higher rates.
