Join the Kentucky Chapter Executive Committee – A Leadership Opportunity
To explore, enjoy, protect, and lead. Join the Kentucky Chapter Executive Committee and help shape the future of our Commonwealth. Fifty years ago, the Kentucky Chapter was founded in the fight to protect the Red River Gorge and the wild places of our Commonwealth. Now we're looking for the next generation of leaders to carry that mission forward.
The Kentucky Chapter is looking for passionate, dedicated members like you to help shape the future of our organization and our state. We are currently seeking candidates for four at-large seats on the ExCom, serving a two-year term starting in January 2027.
Please consider running yourself or suggesting someone who would be a strong candidate.
This Is More Than a Volunteer Position – Grow as a Leader While Giving Back to Kentucky
When you join the ExCom, you're not just giving your time—you're gaining invaluable skills and experiences. The Sierra Club is committed to investing in its leaders, and we offer a wide range of support through our national organization to help you succeed.
By stepping into this role, you'll have the chance to explore areas of your passion and talents or develop new skills! You’ll be well-supported by long-time environmental leaders right here in Kentucky as well as experienced chapter and national support staff. Opportunities include:

You'll also be joining something much bigger than just our Kentucky Chapter. With 64 chapters across the country, chapters are the place-based networks that serve as the organizing home for Sierra Club programs and the incubators of new grassroots initiatives. By stepping into this role, you'll become part of a community of thousands of grassroots leaders who are championing the work of the Sierra Club in their local communities and states. This means the Sierra Club offers you the chance to connect with and learn from experienced leaders and activists across the state and the country who are ready to offer guidance and collaboration.
