Participate in the Wisconsin Conservation Congress “Spring Hearing” Survey

Looking for the quick info? Here's the link to the online survey, and here's our voter guide.

The Wisconsin Conservation Congress (WCC) is a unique entity that collects public input focused on the state's natural resources and gives that input to the Natural Resources Board.

The majority of citizen input is gathered in the WCC Spring Hearing Survey, which collects public opinions on various issues, from hunting and fishing regulations to environmental protection measures. Participation is straightforward and can be done online or in-person. By participating in the WCC, citizens can directly influence decisions and provide guidance to the Natural Resource Board on topics that can be highly political (e.g., creating a sandhill crane hunt, PFAS in our water, and the use of lead in ammunition and fishing tackle).

Last year, the results showed strong support for clean water and wildlife

Where and When to Participate in the Spring Hearing Survey

You have an in-person opportunity for input on April 13, 2026 at 6 p.m. in each county in the state. Find your county's location here.

Alternatively, input can be given online from 6 p.m. on April 13, 2026 through 6 p.m. on April 15, 2026. Please mark your calendars and have a plan to vote!  (RSVP here and we’ll send you a reminder when voting is open with the link.)  The survey can take between 30-45 minutes. Also, when unsure about a question, it is always a good option to select “no opinion” and keep moving through the survey and submit it.

Sierra Club Voter Guide

The survey is long, so we’ve created a voter guide for the questions on which we took a position. You only have to answer the questions you want.  View the questions in advance here.

Emphasis on Limited Time to Vote

The online public survey is only open for 48 hours this year! The in-person hearings are held on a single evening in April, and the opportunity to cast your vote closes promptly. Therefore, it is crucial to mark your calendar and prepare your contributions in advance to ensure that your voice is effectively heard.

Your participation in the WCC Spring Survey is a powerful way to contribute to the stewardship of Wisconsin’s natural resources. By voting, you help shape the policies that protect and enhance our environment for future generations. Do not miss this limited-time opportunity to make a difference!
