Sierra Club Tennessee is made up of volunteer leaders and civic activists, representing over 5,000 members, with a mission to enjoy, explore, and protect the natural and threatened places in Tennessee, to join others in understanding and respecting the fragile environment in which we live, and to support equal environmental justice for all. Chapter Spring Retreat

Fall Creek Falls State Park May 1st to May 3
Springtime at Fall Creek Falls State Park is one of most beautiful times of the year at the largest of Tennessee’s state parks! Join fellow Sierra Clubbers for a weekend of fellowship, networking, wildflower and waterfall hikes, good food, and great entertainment! Enjoy planned group hikes or hike, paddle, fish, swim, or bike in the park on your own. Saturday after supper and the traditional raffle, we will be entertained by singer-songwriter Jay Clark and a couple of his band buddies, Greg Horne and Cory Kimbro, both exceptional musicians. Fall Creek Falls State Park, Saturday, May 2nd

Hiking boot

Know some great hikes, paddle trips, backpacking trips, or other outdoor adventures and want to share them with others?  Consider training to be a Sierra Club outings leader at beautiful Fall Creek Falls State Park during the Chapter's Spring Retreat. Training covers Sierra Club outings policies and procedures, how to plan and manage trips, and how to address potential problems. Attendees will receive a $30 discount on the retreat fee. Leaders also are required to complete a certifed first aid course and do a provisional outing lead with an existing qualified leader. Learn more and Register.


Tennessee Waste to Jobs Act

The Tennessee Waste-to-Jobs Act (Senate Bill 0269 / House Bill 0600), was well received by the Senate Energy, Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee in the Legislature's 114th Session and was considered over the Summer by a task force. It is a critical part of the solution to our solid waste problems. The Chapter is working hard to get it passed. Watch this informative video to learn more:
