With the return of in-person sessions, the Environmental Stewardship Program kicked off with great energy and enthusiasm! Thirty-five new participants signed up to join the growing community of graduates from this flagship chapter program, which over the past nine years has inspired and launched many environmental activists including elected officials to high school students. Program founder Sue Chow sparked a lively discussion on legislative advocacy, noting that “The Center for Biological Diversity has described Senate Bill 131 (2025) as the most environmentally damaging bill the legislature has adopted in at least half a century.” Shruti Chandrasekhar, our chapter’s 30x30 chair, followed with an engaging introduction to the film “Food, Inc.”, which inspired a thoughtful exchange of insights among participants. Gita Dev, Conservation Committee Chair, welcomed all to the new program.
