Sierra Pathfinders

Sierra Pathfinders is an activity section of the Loma Prieta chapter of the Sierra Club. Our motto is: "Explore, Connect, and Conserve" with others who share a passion for nature.

Local Hikes

We offer hikes in the Bay Area and surrounding regions for people of all ability levels. Our hikes range from "Mini Hikes" of 2-3 miles on relatively flat ground to advanced 3C hikes of 10+ miles with 2,000+ feet of elevation gain. We use a standard rating system to categorize hikes.

Pathfinder hike leaders are experienced and trained to Sierra Club standards, and committed to ensuring safe, enjoyable outings.

We often socialize after hikes over lunch and beverages. Visit our Meetup page for the most current listing of Sierra Pathfinder hikes.

Private Events and Activities

While most activities are open to the public, the Sierra Pathfinders also host member-only social events (picnics, potlucks, holiday parties, conservation projects) and outing events (camping and backpacking). Members learn about these private events via email messages sent exclusively to Sierra Pathfinders members.
