Our Last Chance to Protect Crucial Environmental Regulations

AB1370 Sierra Club CA

Your Senator is an author of SB 1370, an environmentally destructive bill that would waive California environmental laws for large-scale projects up to 3,000 acres under the guise of wildfire prevention.

The bill could be voted on as soon as this week. We need your voice to make sure your Senator pulls this dangerous bill and stands on the side of the environment, public health and vital ecosystems.

Call Senator Becker at (650) 233-2724 (District office) or (916) 651-4013 (DC office) today and tell him to PULL SB 1370 to protect California communities and the environment.

SB 1370 would make permanent Governor Newsom’s dangerous, unregulated permitting process for wildfire projects. Projects encompassing more than 38,000 acres of herbicide spraying across the state have already been approved.

A recent CalMatters op-ed by a wildfire survivor warns about the risks of SB 1370, and how the projects that it would fast-track without environmental safeguards could lead to toxic pollution, drinking water contamination from pesticides, and habitat loss for endangered species.

We need smart wildfire solutions, not projects that ignore environmental regulations and spray toxic chemicals in our communities.

Call Senator Becker at (650) 233-2724 (District office) or (916) 651-4013 (DC office) today and tell him to PULL SB 1370.

You can say:

“My name is _______, and I am a constituent. I am calling to urge Senator Becker to PULL SB 1370. SB 1370 would fast track dangerous projects that harm public health and the environment. Thank you.

If you do not get an answer, please leave a message. Every call counts!

Thank you for taking action in this crucial time.
