Mountain View Climate Action Plan update

If Mountain View did measurement and reporting for their Climate Action Plan, You can get your city to do it too!

Thanks to Mayor Matichak the council passed annual Green House Gas measurement and reporting requirements on 3/19/19. In the report to council the staff report said that  "Reducing natural gas use will be critical to meeting long-term GHG reduction goals.” page 12 which makes up 56% of energy emissions according to the pie chart of energy on Page 13.

Mayor Lisa Matichak says, "Climate change is a global issue that cities need to address on a local level. It is important to take action to reduce our carbon footprint as soon as we can and to carefully measure progress on a regular basis."

Page 18 has the three points on annual emission inventories that were adopted by the council allowing for "focusing primarily on the largest contributors, transportation and natural gas”!!! From Agenda Item 8.1
