Re: Nash Road Quarry Reclamation Plan – Sierra Club questions and comments

Dear Ms. Goodspeed,

Thank you for answering previous questions I submitted on behalf of the Sierra Club regarding the Nash Road Quarry Project. After having time to review the relevant documents, we have some additional process questions that we hope are easy for you to answer. We also wrote some initial comments on the Proposed Reclamation Plan that we ask you to consider, and to share with the applicant and consultants (see attached document).

Additional process questions:

  1. The Proposed Nash Road Quarry Reclamation Plan does not include information about who prepared the document. Can that information be provided?
  2. What firm is leading the EIR preparation?
  3. Will Clean Water Act section 403 or 404 permits be required? Will County grading permits or tree removal permits be required? Is there a Fish & Wildlife Streambed Alteration Agreement? Are any other permits anticipated (for example, will the existing use permit be amended)? If so, what is the timing for each, relative to the Reclamation Plan approval process and is there an opportunity for public input?

To the extent you are able to provide answers or require additional clarification, we would be happy to schedule time to discuss these questions over the phone or in person. I look forward to hearing from you.
