Southeastern PA Outings

Heinz Walk

Conservation outings are how we explore, enjoy, and protect the Commonwealth from the white waters of Ohiopyle to the wooded trails of Philadelphia’s city parks. Local Outings volunteers lead a wide range of events and activities just as diverse as their personal interests — day hikes, overnight paddling trips, community building, skiing, bird-watching, conservation-oriented activities, bike tours. Outings take place in some of our most remote state parks and on the streets of our most populated cities - and all of our outings are free or at no cost to our participants.

Sierra Club Outings is focused on three main goals. We aim to reduce barriers and expand access for all people to explore and enjoy nature. We want to integrate outings and outdoor activities into Sierra Club culture, campaigns, programs and activities at the national and local levels. And, we focus on establishing clear pathways for engagement between outings and advocacy.

Do you have an issue you'd like to bring more attention to?  Would a 'field trip', a clean-up, a public hike, help draw attention to the issue?  Please let us know.  We are always interested in new ideas for an Outing!
