Transportation Issues in the Climate Action Plan

The Vermont Sierra Club hosted a discussion to specifically talk about transportation issues proposed within the Vermont Climate Action Plan. The Global Warming Solutions Act created a Vermont Climate Council to develop a plan to reach Vermont's statutory greenhouse gas reduction goals.

Over the last few months, the Climate Council has been meeting to outline the plan and meeting through subcommittees. The Cross-Sector Mitigation subcommittee had formed a subcommittee to specifically focus on transportation-related issues. The Sierra Club hosted two subcommittee leaders Johana Miller, Vermont Natural Resources Council(prerecorded), and Gina Compoli, past Senior Environmental Policy Manager, Vermont Agency of Transportation to discuss the issues that have been proposed for the Climate Action Plan. Vermont Conservation Program Manager Robb Kidd also participated in this conversation discussing how these issues will be looked at closely in the 2022 Vermont Transportation Bill.
