Chapter and group executive committees (ExComs) have two-year terms. Chapter ExCom members can serve for two successive terms. There are no term limits for Group ExCom members. The chapter oversees and is responsible for management of the groups. Group roles are less formal than those of the chapter.
Responsibilities
- Understand and promote the mission of the Sierra Club
- Attend Executive Committee meetings and General meetings
- Receive and follow national and local Sierra Club email
- Serve on one or more core committees
- Participate in Sierra Club training for chapter support activities
- Lead and provide educational training and/or conservation opportunities for members
- Participate in long range planning
- Actively assist in fundraising activities and donate to the chapter
- Ensure financial stability and solvency through fiscal oversight
- Monitor, question, and evaluate club activities
- Provide leadership and vision within the chapter/group
- Contribute a sense of camaraderie and teamwork
