How to save money on electricity?

Building Electrification allows you save money and be green at the same time especially if you are remodeling or building a new home. Gas is unhealthy and accounts for half of homes green house gases. California currently has a surplus of green energy mostly because of the huge amount of solar generated in the state. Heat pump water and space heaters, induction cookers and electric vehicles are a number of ways to take advantage of the extra green electricity in the state.

Future blog entries will address each of these areas. For now here is a tip- if you have the electrician over have them check to see if you panel is capable of handling the extra electric load of a water heater, space heater and cooler, electric vehicle, and or induction cooker.

If Mountain View did measurement and reporting for their Climate Action Plan, You can get your city to do it too!

Thanks to Mayor Matichak the concil passed annual Green House Gas measurement and reporting requirements on 3/19/19. In the report to council the staff report said that
"Reducing natural gas use will be critical to meeting long-term GHG reduction goals.” Read more here.Louis Obispo works on Reach Codes, you can too!
