Building a Brighter PA is a statewide campaign for clean, affordable, locally built energy. It's about real savings for Pennsylvania families, a grid that powers what's next, and smarter oversight of utilities, backed by a policy platform aimed at the next governor.
What is the campaign about?
The Sierra Club Pennsylvania Chapter is proud to be part of a broad Pennsylvania coalition advancing Building a Brighter PA — a comprehensive policy platform to lower energy bills, modernize the grid, and bring clean, locally-built energy to communities across the Commonwealth.
For too many Pennsylvania families, the conversation about energy has become a conversation about whether they can afford the basics. Bills keep climbing. The grid is straining. And the system that's supposed to protect working families isn't keeping up.
Building a Brighter PA changes that. The platform is built on two pillars:
- Lower Energy Bills. Real savings at your kitchen table — through clean, locally-built generation, a modernized grid, energy efficiency, and smarter oversight that holds utilities accountable.
- Pennsylvania-Made Economic Development. A goal of 35% clean energy by 2035, built on rooftops, brownfields, schools, and parking lots — with good union jobs, training the next generation, and local energy that delivers local benefits.
This is what Pennsylvania voters across the political spectrum have told us they want. And it's exactly what the Sierra Club Pennsylvania Chapter has been fighting for: a future where families come first, the grid works, and Pennsylvania powers what's next.
