We are located above a commercial building and our parking is off of a side street. There are a few options in regards to parking, so please read these instructions. It is important that you know that we do have parking passes available for guests, so chances are you will not need to pay for metered parking.

Located just off Route 1 (Baltimore Ave), south of the University of Maryland Campus in the upper part of the College Park Shopping Center above Starbucks, Chipotle, Jason's Deli, CVS and other businesses.
Adjacent to this shopping center is Knox Rd. It is advised that you not park in the main parking lot. Park behind the building. If you go up Knox Rd you will see a small parking lot behind the building we are in. Please park in any of the non-metered spots, enter thru the double glass doors and sign out a parking pass which you will need to return upon your departure. If the non-metered spots are all taken, there are 10 spots in the main parking lot that Sierra Club is authorized to utilize. These are located next to Bank of America, specifically parking space numbers 446-455. Put your parking pass on your rear view mirror for the duration of your stay and you will not get ticketed. If all of the non-metered spaces are being utilized you will need to pay for a parking meter, but this is a rare occurrence. A lot of visitors are not aware of the parking passes we have available and simply pay the meter, which works fine but we wanted you to make sure you knew of your options (and to save you some spare change).
Below are directions to our office:
By Car:
- Take the 495 Beltway to the College Park Route 1 exit.
- Go South on Route 1. Pass the campus on your right.
- After the southern-most entrance (College Avenue), make right at next light (Knox Rd) and go up Knox Rd. into the small parking lot directly behind the College Park shopping center where there is a CVS, Chipotle, Jason's Deli, Starbucks, Noodles & Co. Cava , etc.
- Park behind or at the shopping center. If there are no spots behind the shopping center, you can park in SOME of the spots in the main parking lot in the front of the building (spaces 446-455), as long as you have a parking pass, which you can get from our front desk. If these spaces are also occupied then you will need to pay for metered parking.
- The Sierra Club office is above the shops on same level as back parking lot. If you park in the main parking lot out front, you'll need to go up the stairway to the right of Chipotle, take a left at the top of the stairs, and our office is down the hall on the right, Suite 102.
- Bring quarters just in case you do need to pay for metered parking.
- Return your parking pass to the front desk before leaving. If you are visiting during office hours, Gary will be more than happy to come out to your vehicle to retrieve the parking pass so you don't have to return it to the office.
By Metro:
Take the Green Line to the College Park Metro Station. From here you can then walk or take the bus:
BUS: East Metro exit, facing Paint Branch Parkway. Take #83 bus marked "Rhode Island" for 6-minute bus ride to Baltimore Avenue (Route 1) & Hartwick road. Buses run every 30 minutes at 25 and 55 after the hour till 9:25 pm. There are also UMCP shuttle buses running every 15 minutes up to the Campus that are free.
WALK (10 minutes): West Metro exit, the community side (not the huge parking lot side). Walk 1 block up Calvert Road, take first right on Dartmouth, then first left on Knox Road. Go 6 (short) blocks. Cross Route 1 to the Shopping Center. Take the stairwell beside Chipotle & Starbucks up to 2nd level.
