The Maryland Sierra Club invited state and local legislators to a special screening of "The Story of Plastic" and on May 7, 2020, to participate in a discussion with a panel of experts who could answer their questions. The focus of the discussion was on solutions to the plastic pollution crisis. The panelists included:
- Judith Enck, President, Beyond Plastics; Former EPA Administrator Region 2; Former Deputy Secretary of the Environment, State of New York
- Susan Collins, President, Container Recycling Institute
- Melanie Duchin, Greenpeace Plastics Campaigner
- John Hite, Policy Analyst, Conservation Law Foundation Zero Waste Project
- Brooke Lierman, Maryland State Delegate, District 46 (Baltimore)
